This gorgeous cottage is situated almost as close to the water as you can get! Steps to a sandy beach, beautiful dockside sunsets, it doesn't get better than this. Want to travel with others? You can book the cottage next door as well! Enjoy the lake with water toys, including canoes, kayaks, Stand up Paddle boards, and a pedal boat. The sunsets by the fireplace are where memories are made!

Good to know

This cottage was built in the 1950's and was recently updated with a new kitchen, refinished pine flooring, and a new furniture such as the locally made timber queen bed. Inside you can watch the water from the main table where you can sip your coffee from the nespresso maker, or lounge on the leather couches. There is a gentle slope down to the water from the outside deck, which is private as well as the beach front. The fire pit and the boat port are shared between this cottage and the one next door - giving you more options for fishing or boat choices.

The boathouse dock, beach and water toys are shared with the neighbouring cottage (The Nest). Book together with a friend and choose your neighbour

We had a fantastic stay at the Cabana! The place was immaculately clean and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and cozy stay — it truly felt like a home away from home. The hosts were amazing — incredibly responsive and welcoming, with outstanding communication from the start. One of the highlights was definitely the lake. My dad caught 10 pike over our 3-day stay using the rowboat, which made his trip! We also enjoyed time out on the kayak and canoe, taking in the peaceful surroundings, enjoyed hiking as well. Having our meals on the patio overlooking the lake was an amazing experience, we loved relaxing with that view. We also spent a few hours exploring the charming town of Huntsville, just a 25-minute drive away. If you're going with extended family, the neighboring cabin, “The Nest”, looks like an awesome option to rent together. We were extremely comfortable throughout our stay and enjoyed every minute. The host has gone above and beyond to make the cottage experience exceptional; the host has a keen eye for decor and making the cottage feel comfortable, cozy and functional; like being at home. The appliances, kitchenware are above average/top notch. We had everything we needed and the special touches made it a lovely experience; Nespresso machine with pods; condiments; lovely hand soaps and lotions for bathroom, shower and kitchen; comfortable beds with decorative cozy bedding and fresh bath towels. Roomy space outdoors on the deck for lounging, and eating/playing games at the table. Enjoyed having some grilled meals with the use of the BBQ. Nice little beach front and water paraphernalia for water activities. We had lovely stay at the Cabana Cottage and we thank you for hosting us and sharing your space. Marion, Natalie and Sawyer

What can I say about Shari, David and their two daughters. They were the best hosts ever. We had our family here who we wanted to give an experience of the cottage lifestyle. Unfortunately the original cottage we booked for the weekend turned into a nightmare as it didn’t reflect the cottage properly and we had to look for another spot at the last moment. Thankfully we found Shari’s cottage who was gracious enough to allow us book it at the last moment. What started as a nightmare of a weekend cuz of the first booking very quickly turned into the best cottage weekend we have ever spent. This place has the perfect setting right by the three mile lake. Shari and her family also came up and were staying at the cottage right next to ours and they were so accommodating and generous. Even took our family on their boat in the water. The cottage had Kayaks, pedalboards, canoes etc and we had the best time here. Thank you again Shari for sharing your beautiful piece of heaven with us.

Find us

Parking is on the road near the cottages, with additional spots above on the wider road or by the trailer at the top of the hill and is limited to 1 or 2 cars. The neighbouring cabin may temporarily use that road for loading and unloading. We strongly recommend 4WD and snow tires in the winter because although it is so very beautiful, the weather can be snowy and the roads are gravel and hilly at the end. We do have connections with local people who plough the road and driveway and do their best to ensure it is accessible.
